Our collaboration with the SNSM

The Société Nationale de Sauvetage en Mer was created in 1967, a merger of two sea rescue associations, one national and the other Breton. Its objective is to voluntarily rescue people in danger on the coast and at sea.

At Le Vent à la Française , we are particularly sensitive to associations and benevolent people, who aim to make the world a better place, according to their field of action.

Overall, what is the SNSM?

The mission of the SNSM is to save people in danger on the seas and the French coast, and this corresponds perfectly to our vision of benevolence as well as to the DNA of our brand, linked to the marine world.

In addition to rescues , the association carries out prevention campaigns to raise people's awareness of the risks and good behavior to adopt by the sea.

They are also present at certain events, for their recognized mastery of first aid and crisis management.

Yes, not all heroes wear capes, some wear swimsuits!

The SNSM in a few figures

The SNSM is more than 3500 interventions per year, carried out from 187 stations by 8000 volunteers , they are the guarantors of our safety on the French coasts .

Donations represent 80% of the association's income and are used to maintain and acquire equipment but also to manage the organization. This essential financial resource allows them to carry out all their missions.

Rescues at sea

Rescuers have Jet Skis, lifeboats, ships and helicopters to carry out their operations. In the event of an alert, the captain of the nearest rescue boat at sea gathers his crew and all the means he deems useful. The reaction and the know-how of the rescuers at sea , their equipment but also the management of the organization are essential for all the missions to be a success. Rescues concern both professionals and the general public.

Coastal protection

Lifeguards are the first link in the rescue chain on the coast because they are the first to be present in the event of an incident.

They have several names: lifeguard, lifeguard or lifeguard, and are all qualified lifeguards. They voluntarily monitor the beaches all year round and are paid for their summer jobs at the lifeguard station during this period.

Make a donation or get involved!

The “littoral” teams require continuous training and are mainly made up of students.

If you are a student, we encourage you to become a lifeguard swimmer , this allows you to live an enriching experience and to acquire a diploma recognized by the state and in the professional world in general.

Supporting the SNSM means allowing courageous volunteers to have operational equipment and the organizational means necessary to make the French coasts safe.

Resources are distributed as in the graph above with 76% of the value of donations contributing directly to rescue missions. It is for all these reasons that Le Vent à la Française has chosen to join forces with the SNSM to bring it more visibility and collect precious donations.

We are counting on you !
